Editorial Policy

Linda’s Smart Pick publishes buying guides and reviews for parents of babies and toddlers. This page explains how that content gets made, so you can judge how much weight to give it.

How we choose what to cover

We start from real questions parents ask, then look at what is already available. If a topic is well covered elsewhere, we only write about it when we can add something specific: a situation other guides ignore, a comparison nobody has made, or hands-on time with the product.

How we evaluate products

Depending on the product, our evaluation includes some or all of the following:

  • Hands-on use where we have it, with the length of that use stated in the article
  • Comparing manufacturer specifications against real-world performance
  • Reading and cross-checking verified buyer feedback across multiple retailers
  • Checking recall and safety notices from the CPSC and the manufacturer
  • Consulting published guidance from pediatric and safety organizations where relevant

We do not claim to have tested something we have not. Where our assessment is based on research rather than first-hand use, the article says so.

Safety and health content

Topics involving infant sleep, feeding, and development are held to a higher standard. Those articles cite their sources, note when guidance comes from a medical or safety authority, and include a disclaimer that our content is not medical advice. When something requires a doctor’s judgment, we say so instead of guessing.

Independence from brands

No brand sees an article before publication, and no brand can pay for a favorable rating or for placement in a guide. Affiliate commissions do not influence rankings. See our Affiliate Disclosure for how we earn money.

How we use AI tools

We use AI tools for research assistance and first drafts. Every article is reviewed, edited, and fact-checked by a human before publication, and all opinions and recommendations come from our editorial team.

Keeping content current

Product lines change, prices move, and safety guidance gets updated. We revisit our most-read guides on a regular schedule and update the “last updated” date whenever the substance of an article changes. If you spot something out of date, tell us at hello@lindasmartpick.com.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we correct it and note that the article was updated. We do not silently delete claims we used to make.
