Honest answers from someone in the middle of it.
I’m Linda, and I’m expecting my first baby. Linda’s Smart Pick is where I write down what I learn while I’m learning it: which products are actually worth paying for, which items every checklist tells you to buy but nobody ends up using, and what the fine print in the specifications really means.
Most baby gear reviews are written years later, by people who have forgotten what it felt like to stand in a store aisle with no idea what to do. I’m writing from inside that moment. As my baby grows and I use this gear myself, these articles get updated with what I actually learn along the way.
How I research
I do not claim to have tested everything on this site, and I will never pretend that I have. Here is what I actually do:
- Compare specifications across the leading options and flag where the marketing does not match the numbers
- Read through verified buyer feedback across retailers, looking for patterns rather than isolated complaints
- Check recalls and safety notices in official databases for everything I recommend
- Follow published guidance from pediatric and safety organizations on anything touching sleep, feeding, or development
- Say so when I am still uncertain about something
When I do have hands-on experience with a product, I will say so plainly, including how long I have used it.
A note on the name
Linda is a pen name. The research, the opinions, and the mistakes are all mine.
